Vöðlavík

360° view

Along the coastline of the east fjords lies a pure oasis, Vöðlavík. This small bay is characterised by its striking features: a black sand beach contrasting with towering mountains on both sides. The bay offers seclusion, with only a few scattered cabins around the area. The black sand beach, in particular, is a unique highlight, with its dark colour creating a striking visual contrast against the deep blue waters of the sea. The mountains encircling the bay add an imposing and awe-inspiring dimension to the landscape. A fairly large landlocked lagoon is situated between the green fields of the bay and the mighty Atlantic Ocean by a thin beach strip. Driving to this location is also an experience, as the rough gravel road winds down a moor with a breathtaking view of the bay ahead.
