A stunning lava tunnel that stretches for 1.360 meters. The tunnel offers a unique experience with its modest and tasteful lighting, really enhancing the beauty of the tunnel and its singularity. There are supports and railings throughout the tunnel, simple and can be removed with the right permit. The walls of the tunnel are adorned with stunning rock formations and intricate patterns that have been shaped by time and natural forces. Where once flowed scorching hot lava, you see a testimony of how truly powerful nature can be.

Accessibility

The lava tunnel is accessible via a well-maintained path leading from a large parking lot at the entrance. The path both leading in and within the tunnel itself can be slippery, and visitors should wear appropriate footwear. Phone coverage is excellent outside the tunnel, but none within.

Basecamp and facilities

There is a medium size parking lot at the entrance to the lava tunnel and basic facilities suitable for small groups. There are no dedicated catering options or extensive restroom facilities at the site.

Risk factors

The walls and the ceiling of the tunnel can be unstable. The uneven terrain and wet surfaces can pose slipping hazards. Ice formations can develop in winter making navigation hazardous; appropriate safety measures are required.

Visitors

The area is a popular tourist attraction. There is a company on-site that gives groups guided tours of the tunnel. With the right permit, you could easily close this location for your production.
