Kvernufoss waterfall is truly a wonder, located in a narrow canyon with towering boulders and cliffs made of tuff. The cliffs are high and impressive as you travel the path along the canyon and arrive at this beautiful waterfall which cascades 30 meters into its pool. You can walk behind the waterfall and capture the rushing water from a different perspective. The canyon on its own is a location in itself with erosion-made images in the rock face, while the presence of openings and caverns adds an air of mystery to this location. During winter, this waterfall freezes over easily, making this a winter wonderland with icicles and frosty cliffs, a snapshot of frozen time.
